According to INSEE, in 2016, in France, there were 785,000 births. According to the latest national perinatal survey in 2016, 80.4% of women gave birth by vaginal delivery. Of these, 52.1% had perineal tears and 0.8% had 3rd and 4th degree tears. Of these 3rd and 4th degree tears, 2.2% occurred during instrumental delivery and 0.5% during spontaneous delivery. In recent years, there has been an increase in the prevalence of obstetric anal sphincter injuries. Mc Pherson et al. found a prevalence of LOSA (Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injury) of 2% in 2004 versus 4.6% in 2008. Gurol-Urganci et al. also found an increase in prevalence from 1.8% in 2000 to 5.9% in 2012. This increase is probably due to improved diagnosis by obstetrical teams. Indeed, a large number of LOSAs remained undiagnosed at birth and these occult lesions were subsequently found by endoanal ultrasound. A local community garden is getting a facelift thanks to a proposal by a local Eagle Scout.
Alexander High School student Erick Varela came up with an Eagle Scout project to beautify and give visual attraction to the urban garden located behind the Northeast Hillside Recreation Center in Blas Castañeda Park.
“I (propose changes) that (will) help more people find out how to join this program and for people who drive by McPherson can be captivated and grow an interest about the garden and its benefits,” Varela wrote in his proposal. ....

An audiovisual ‘Exquisite Corpse’ featuring contributions from a host of musicians and visual artists.
Last year, Berlin-based musician Zoë Mc Pherson and visual artist Alessandra Leone launched a unique collaborative project through their SFX platform called XquisiteForce. The project is an audiovisual update of the ‘Exquisite Corpse’, a collaborative assemblage technique developed by the Surrealists in the 1920s.
In the original format, players would write on a piece of paper on pass it to the next person, hiding everything that had been written from the next contributor except the very end. In Mc Pherson and Leone’s version, they made an open call for musicians and visual artists to create sound or video in response to the final fragment of a previous work. ....
